67 Gun Club, Inc. By-Laws and Special Rules

Article I

Name of the corporation

The name of this organization is "67 Gun Club, Inc.". The organization is a 501 (c) (7) non-profit organization.

Article II

Purpose of the corporation

The object of this organization is to encourage organized rifle and pistol shooting among citizens of the United States, to promote a better knowledge of the safe handling and proper care of firearms, and to promote improved marksmanship. It is the further object and purpose to promote honesty, good fellowship, self-discipline, team play and self-reliance which are the essentials of good sportsmanship and the foundation of true patriotism.

Article III

Membership

Any legal resident of the United States 18 years of age or older may become a member of this organization on vote of the Executive Committee after subscribing to the following pledge and on payment of the initiation fee and dues. Any prospect must be recommended by a member in good standing or provide a valid Missouri concealed carry permit, law enforcement ID, military ID or DD form 214 showing honorable discharge. Applications will be acted on at the regular monthly meeting.

New members once accepted into the organization are required to attend a mandatory range safety and orientation meeting at the range. Upon completion the new member will receive membership card and gate key.

NRA Pledge

I certify that I am a citizen of good repute of the United States of America; that I am not a member of any organization or group having as its purpose or one of its purposes the overthrow by force and violence of the Government of the United States or any of its political subdivisions; that I have never been convicted of a crime of violence; and that, if admitted to membership, I will fulfill the obligations of good sportsmanship and good citizenship.

Article IV

Dues

(a)  The annual dues of each member shall be paid between October 1st and December 31st for the upcoming year. New members shall, in addition to the annual dues, pay an initiation All members must to be members of the National Rifle Association. (b)  Any member whose dues are delinquent shall not be in good standing and, therefore, shall not be eligible to vote or enjoy any other privileges or benefits offered by this organization.

Article V

Meetings

(a)   Annual Meeting.  The annual meeting of the members shall be held on the first Saturday of March in each year. If the annual meeting shall not take place at the time it shall be held within a reasonable time thereafter, and the officers shall hold over until their successors have been elected. Rules and regulations for the use of the range and other properties of this organization may be authorized, modified and revoked at any annual meeting, as well as the conducting of other business of this organization. (b)   Regular Meeting. The regular business meeting for the transaction of ordinary business shall be held on the third Tuesday of each month, at such time and place as may be fixed by the Executive Committee. (C)    Special Meeting. A special meeting of the members may be held at any time upon the call of the president or upon the call of the Executive Committee, or upon demand in writing, stating the object of the proposed meeting, and signed by not less than 20 percent of the members entitled to vote. Notice of the time, place and object of any special meeting shall be given to all officers and members in good standing in writing by United States mail or by email not less than seven days prior to the date fixed for the holding of the The time and place of such special meeting shall be fixed by the Executive Committee.

Article VI

Officers

(a)    The officers of this organization shall be president, vice­ president, secretary, treasurer, range safety officer, and executive officer who, acting together, constitute the Executive Committee. Officers shall be elected by a majority vote by ballot of the members in good standing present at the Annual Meeting. They shall hold office for one year or until their successors are The offices of secretary and treasurer may be combined. All officers must be Twenty-one years of age or older and have been a member in good stand for 2 or more years. Officers must attend in person at least 9 meetings in a calendar year. (b)    The Executive Committee shall have general supervision and control of all activities of the (c)    Meetings of the Executive Committee shall be held regularly at such time and place as the committee may determine. Special meetings may be held at any time on the call of the president or on demand, in writing, to the secretary by three members of the committee. (d)    Four members of the Executive Committee shall constitute a quorum at any meeting of the committee. (e)    Resignation of any officer may be accepted by a majority vote of the remaining members of the Executive Committee. (f)    A single Vacancy in the Executive Committee may be filled by a majority vote of the remaining members of the committee. If more than one vacancy exists, a special meeting of the membership shall be called and new officers shall be elected to fill the vacancies until the date of the next Annual Meeting as provided in paragraph (a) above.

Article VII

Duties of Officers

(a)    President.  The president shall preside at all meetings of this organization and of the Executive Committee. He/she shall be a member ex-officio of all regular and special committees and shall perform all such other duties as usually pertain to his/her office. (b)    Vice-president. The vice-president shall perform the duties of the president in his/her absence or at his (c)    Secretary.  The secretary shall: (1) conduct all official correspondence pertaining to the preparation and forwarding of all reports required by this organization by the National Rifle Association and by the Civilian Marksmanship Program; (2) notify the members of the Executive Committee of all meetings and all members of special and Annual Meetings as required in Article V; (3) keep a true record of all meetings of the Executive Committee and of this organization and have the custody of the books and papers of this organization, except the treasurer's books or accounts; (4) be responsible for the collection of all fees and dues and shall remit the same to the treasurer, taking his/her proper receipt therefore; (5) be responsible for reaffiliating this organization annually with the National Rifle Association. All applications for membership in this organization shall be made to the secretary. (d)    Treasure.  The treasurer shall have charge of all funds of this organization and place the same in such bank or banks as may be approved by the Executive Committee. Such money shall only be withdrawn by debit card or by check signed by the treasurer or the secretary and for the payment of such bills as have been approved by the Executive Committee. The treasurer shall keep an accurate account of all transactions and render a detailed report with vouchers at any meeting of the Executive Committee, when required, and at the Annual Meeting. (e)    Range Safety Officer. The range safety officer shall have charge of all range safety and small arms instruction with authority to appoint his assistants. The range safety officer shall contract no bills without authorization of the Executive (f)    Executive officer. Article VIII

Suspension of Expulsion

(a)    Any officer may be removed by a two-thirds vote of the members in good standing present at any regular, special or annual meeting of the members. No vote on suspension or removal may be taken unless at least fifteen days notice in writing has been given to the officer of the allegations made, the intention to consider suspension or expulsion and of the time and place of the meeting at which such ballot on his or her removal is to be taken. At such meeting the officer shall be given a full opportunity to be heard and to present relevant evidence in his or her behalf. (b)    Any member may be suspended or expelled from this organization for any cause deemed sufficient by the Executive Committee by a two-thirds vote of the members of the committee present at any regular, annual or special No vote on suspension or expulsion may be taken unless at least fifteen days notice in writing shall have been given to the member of the allegations made, the intension to consider suspension or expulsion and of the time and place of the meeting of the Executive Committee at which the suspension or expulsion will be considered. At such meeting the member shall be given a full opportunity to be heard and to present relevant evidence in his or her behalf. (c)    Charges against any officer or member may be preferred by any member in good standing. They shall be in writing clearly stating the facts relied upon and accompanied by all affidavits or exhibits which are to be used in their Such charges shall be filed with the secretary, who will immediately notify the president The president will call a meeting of the Executive Committee to hear the charges. The secretary will give at least fifteen days notice of the meeting to each member of the executive Committee and to the accuser and to the accused, which notice shall be in writing and will include a true copy of the charges and of the supporting affidavits and exhibits. (d)    Any member suspended or expelled by the Executive Committee may appeal to the full membership of this organization. Such appeal shall be made in writing to the secretary who will notify the president. The president will call a special meeting of this organization for the purpose of acting on the appeal. The secretary shall give at least fifteen days notice in writing to all members of the organization in good standing stating the date, time, place and reason for such special meeting. A such special meeting of the membership the secretary will read the original charges, the supporting affidavits, and will read or display the accompanying exhibits, and will read the minutes of the special meeting of the Executive Committee at which the charges were heard and action taken. At such meeting the accuser and the accused shall be given a full opportunity to be heard and to present relevant evidence in support of the charges and in his or her behalf. A vote will be taken by ballot of the members of the members in good standing present and a two-third vote shall be required to reverse the action of the Executive Committee. (e)    Any official or member of the organization who has been suspended or expelled by the National Rifle Association of America shall automatically stand suspended or expelled from this organization immediately upon receipt of the official notice by the secretary of this organization from the secretary of the National

Article IX

Match Rules

All rifle and revolver or pistol competitions held by this organization will be governed by the rules and regulations set and voted on by the match captains and the executive committee.

Article X

Amendments

Any proposed amendments to these by-laws may be introduced by any member of the club at any regular meeting or special meeting called for the purpose. Such proposed amendments must be acted upon by the club membership at a regular meeting or special meeting called for the purpose provided a copy of the proposed approved amendments has been sent to each club member by United States mail or email at least ten days previous to the meeting. A two­ thirds vote of the members present will be necessary to pass or reject it.

Special Rules

  1. No alcoholic beverages or- illicit drugs allowed on 67 Gun Club, Inc. property.
 
  1. Members may have two shooting guests at the club range. (Members are responsible for their guests.)
 
  1. Verbal or physical altercations will not be
 
  1. Any organization may request use of the club range by sending a written request by mail to the club's mailing address. The executive committee will meet and give a written response to the
 
  1. Ensure gate closes upon entering and leaving the
 
  1. Shooters are to remove targets and litter from the
 
  1. No steel targets or ground targets will be allowed on the handgun
 
  1. The use of incendiary or exploding targets will not be allowed on the
 
  1. No armor piercing or steel core ammo is to be used on the range
 
  1. No shooting of item off the top of range target
 
  1. The range is only open during daylight hours.
 
  1. No use of shotguns on the range target backers, use the orange fencing on the high power side of the
 
  1. Discharge firearms downrange direction only. For Safety sake never fire across the range (to the right or left).
 
  1. Firearms are NOT to be touched, worked on or scopes adjusted while shooters are down range or during a cease
 
  1. Failure to comply with the rules of the 67 Gun Club, , or damaging property of the 67 Gun Club, Inc., is cause for expulsion from 67 Gun Club, Inc.
